Welcome to the Black Forest Slash and Mulch Site, a community resource dedicated to promoting wildfire mitigation, recycling natural materials, and supporting healthy forest management in El Paso County, Colorado.
Welcome
What is the Slash and Mulch Program?
The Black Forest Slash and Mulch Program gives residents a convenient place to drop off slash, tree limbs, and other natural wood debris (no pine needles). The collected material is mulched and made available for residents to take home.
When you use the Black Forest Slash and Mulch Site, you help create a safer, cleaner, and more sustainable community by:
- Reducing waste that would otherwise go to our landfill.
- It puts nutrients back into the ground, helping plants grow stronger and healthier.
- It improves the quality of our local soil so it can hold water better and support more vegetation.
- It keeps organic material in our community instead of wasting it in a landfill.
- It helps create a natural cycle where old branches and wood debris become useful again as mulch.
